Halloween Eye Safety
We are gearing up for Halloween at Eye Contact Optometry! Here are a few tips to keep your eyes safe this Halloween:
- Choose your costume carefully – masks, wigs, and eye patches can all block vision, making it more difficult to see while you’re out collecting candy and spooking others
- Don’t buy decorative contact lenses that have not been prescribed by an eye doctor. Contact lenses are medical devices, and costume contact lenses sold without a prescription may not be sterile or fit your eye properly, which can cause many eye problems including vision threatening eye infections.
- Face makeup can add that final touch to your costume – but it can also harm your eyes, so be very careful to avoid the eye area when applying it!
Happy Halloween from your friends at Eye Contact!
