Halloween Eye Safety

Halloween Eye Safety

We are gearing up for Halloween at Eye Contact Optometry! Here are a few tips to keep your eyes safe this Halloween:

  1. Choose your costume carefully – masks, wigs, and eye patches can all block vision, making it more difficult to see while you’re out collecting candy and spooking others
  2. Don’t buy decorative contact lenses that have not been prescribed by an eye doctor. Contact lenses are medical devices, and costume contact lenses sold without a prescription may not be sterile or fit your eye properly, which can cause many eye problems including vision threatening eye infections.
  3. Face makeup can add that final touch to your costume – but it can also harm your eyes, so be very careful to avoid the eye area when applying it!

Happy Halloween from your friends at Eye Contact!
